Parrot: 9/4/09 9:30 am; Rexburg; f4.3 1/50; Sony DSC-T50

I found someone that has a few pets here at BYUI. I found it is difficult that take pictures of animals because they are always moving. I had to take a lot of pictures of the bird because the window brought in a lot of light which would sometimes change the color of the bird. I like the snake and the contrast of the snake and the marble in the sink.

  1. The snake shot is awesome. I totally agree. The marble sink is a sweet background for the sake. The skin of the snake is just cool with that sink. May to be man. I wasn’t a fan of your bird shot because you used flash. Overhead flash really kills a picture. If you could have moved the bird closer to the window and have just pure window light take care for you that would have been the best. Shadows are good in a picture. When you use overhead flash like this it sucks out the depth of the shot and makes everything really not flattering and flat. Your subjects are sweet. Good Job.

  2. With the bird image, I think it would have been a great opportunity to preview the benefits of HDR. It would allow you to use the window light to your benefit, not as a hindrance.
